The Streets and Sanitation Department is an integral part of the City of Monroe Public Works Department. This department is responsible for maintaining all city streets, alleys, right of ways, and stormwater drainage systems within the city limits. 

In addition, the Streets and Sanitation Department provides direct and indirect support to other organizations responding to both man-made and natural disasters.
