Community Connections Nights for Youth & Adults with Special Needs

On Monday and Wednesday nights, children and adults with special needs can come and do crafts, enjoy special visitors and socialize. We received a grant through Monroe Community Foundation for this program to be free for all participants! Youth and adults can come for one or both nights. Swimtime and water fun will follow if they choose.
Age: Children and Adults with special needs (1st grade - Adults)
Day: Monday and Wednesday nights
Date: June 14 - July 21 (No class June 28 & 30)
Time: 4:00 - 5:00pm (pool-time to follow)
Fee: No cost, but need to register
Location: Recreation North Shelter

June 16 - Visit from Monroe Police and see Police car up close.
June 21 - Small animal petting zoo sponsored by Monroe Lions Club.
June 23 - Visit from Therapy dog, Toodles.
June 28 - No Community Connections today.
June 30 - No Community Connections today.
July 5 - Jane Swiggum shares some magic tricks.
July 7 - Visit from Jelle Towing and see the big tow trucks.
July 12 - Members of Green County EMS will bring an ambulance to explore
July 14 - The Fire Department will come and show them the fire trucks.
July 19 - Jane Swiggum stops and helps make friendship bracelets.
July 21 - Adventure Club kids put on a magic show.

Parks & Recreation uses the following COVID-19 PROTOCOL:
We recommend that participants receive their COVID-19 vaccine in order to attend. We ask participants to wear facemasks, social distance and no hugging. If your child doesn’t understand these guidelines, we recommend they do not attend the program this year. Our staff will be wearing masks and taking necessary precautions to keep the participants safe.
