City Clerk
The City Clerk’s Office has the care and custody of the corporate seal and records such as: rent/lease agreements, easements, titles, contracts and other miscellaneous agreements. The City Clerk’s Office takes applications and issues licenses and permits for: liquor and beer, bartenders, dancing, cigarettes, taxi cab businesses, transient merchants, carnivals, circuses, street and terrace openings, weights and measures, pawnbrokers and secondhand article dealers, etc. Oaths and affirmations are administered in the Clerk’s Office. The minutes of the Common Council and most other city committees are kept here. This office handles public records requests for the records maintained by the Clerk's Office. The Clerk’s Office is also responsible for administration of elections and voter registration for City of Monroe residents.
